Managed to get mine pre-ordered from argos but I think they sold out yesterday afternoon.
As far as I can tell, EE still has some available but it's only the big £500+ bundle, so unless you actually want those accessories or are willing to try to sell them on, you're stuck reloading pages until somewhere like argos, very, EE, game, john lewis, etc.
I went with Currys for my Switch 2 as I was back at home in native Wiltshire when [in person] pre-orders began, and as it's also collection in person, I'll have to make a day trip from London on 5th June.
The redeeming factor was that I managed to get 6% off by buying in full using discounted gift cards (one of the few perks of working for a charity). The guy I spoke to said that they [Currys] would be doing more in-person pre-orders before launch once they knew how many more units they were getting across the whole of their UK stores.
Let me know if you do decide on Currys as I can hook you up with the same discounted gift cards...

The band Hikes are based in Austin and are amazing indie/mathy band. They meet your previously stated requirements for an opener being "not all men".
