New Website // US Webstore // 'Sick Scenes' Vinyl // Much More
The new LC!.com includes a comprehensive live gig history, and we'd love for you to contribute your photos and memories!
As we stand on the precipice of the next big era of Los Camp!, we’re readying ourselves with the launch of our new website. We’ve long felt that most band websites are redundant. Usually carrying old news, stylistically hungover from a previous album campaign and usually less informative than checking a band’s Twitter or Wikipedia. We’ve absolutely been guilty of this ourselves in the past!
But no more! Along with this newsletter, the new loscampesinos.com is intended to be a utilitarian destination for when you want to know the latest on our band.
The pièce de résistance of the new gaff is undoubtedly…
THE GIGOGRAPHY - Here lies, of course, a list of our upcoming gigs and ticket links, but also a definitive list of EVERY GIG WE’VE EVER PLAYED. That may seem informative enough but there’s much more. By clicking on a show you can submit photos/videos/recollections from that gig, which will then populate the pages to create a trove of memories and shared experiences. We’ve already started adding stuff from our personal collections but we would love for you to help us to make an incredible archive of our live history. The older and less well attended the show, the better!
As well as that, there’s…
NEW US WEBSTORE - For so long you North Americans have been paying too much on shipping. FINALLY we’ve launched a US based store to keep those costs down for you. A limited range for the time being, but as new items are added, we’ll do all we can to ensure both our US and original store are carrying all the same items.
This new store SHIPS TO SOUTH AMERICA
10% off all clothing (on our UK store too) this weekend with code: LOS10CAMP
DISCOGRAPHY - A detailed list of all our releases, including credits and info on vinyl pressings and other physical formats. We’ll keep this fresh with links of where you can buy items as they become available.
NEWS & FEATURES - We’ll be gathering all of the writing we share with you in these newsletters and hosting more great Los Camp! related long reads. As well as that, we’ll post all the latest news on shows, releases and vibes, just like it’s 2010 all over again. If there’s something we want you to know, you won’t need to dig through our socials, you’ll find it there on the site.
HEART SWELLS - A dedicated page for our fledgling record label. “Big things soon” as they say.
We hope you enjoy having a click around, and please do submit whatever you can to help us grow the site!
‘Sick Scenes’ Back Available on Vinyl
Over recent years we've received tons of requests for our albums to be made available on vinyl again, and we promised to do our best. Sadly, for the most part this is something we don't have 100% control over, but I'm pleased to say we finally made a breakthrough, and available to you now is our most recent album, 2017's Sick Scenes.
Featuring the original audio, with a streamlined, updated lyric insert, this pressing is limited to just 1,000 copies. If you'd prefer to buy the record in person, then hold on just a couple of weeks and speak to your local record store, they'll be able to order it in for you.
If you're in the United States/Canada, save on shipping costs and grab it from us at our upcoming shows. OR it'll be available to buy from our newly launched US webstore once those dates are complete.
*** The price is a little more than we’d like for a repress of this nature. This is a release where we are required to purchase from the distributor. This costs us significantly more than when it’s an album we own the rights to. We make about £5 on each of these LPs sold (but we were also required to commit to paying for the stock up front, so please do buy one if you fancy it!).
Dave, in a Cowshed in Derbyshire (Summer of 2008)
Head over to our new website to read a personal essay from LC! fan Dave Marples, who writes about sharing his love of our band with his 18 year old daughter Anya.
It’s a strange thing, to be aware that to so many of you we’ve been a special band. It’s very humbling, and certainly the most rewarding element of being in Los Camp!. One such humbling moment has been provided by Dave’s story of how he became an LC! fan at Indietracks Festival in 2008, and how he shared his love of our band with his teen daughter 15 years later at our Troxy show. We hope you’ll enjoy reading his story, and maybe have shared some of the same feelings and experiences that he has.
RIYL: Enduring Inspo & Peers
We often see fans asking “If I like LC! what other bands will I like?”. Well here’s a playlist of who we came up on, and who we share a space with. All the greats are on there.
Stick it on shuffle and let us know your new faves or old classics in the comments.
The ‘Live at Troxy’ Riso books have now landed and they’re truly a thing of beauty. It’s been a pleasure working on this with talented photographers and the amazing George Grace Gibson, who took care of the layout and riso expertise. Limited to just 500, but there are still plenty of copies left. We managed to nudge postage down a little, if that put you off buying before.
Our friends keep doing great things. claire rousay’s put out the album of the year (just a beautiful downbeat record of great emo songwriting and compelling found-sounds), and is touring the US, Europe and UK through Spring. See you at the Bristol show. Martha have just announced a UK tour for later in the year, and Nathy SG of that parish keeps putting out power-pop bangers about falling in love and quitting your job. Our US tour mates Fresh have put out a new EP, and ME REX (who I’m really looking forward to seeing live again next week) have done the same.
Did I mention 2000 Trees Festival, before? In July we’re playing our first UK grass festival since 2014 and really excited to put on a show. Come join us!
And yes of course, it’s somehow just 42 days until we fly out for our US shows! 6 of the 11 are sold out, so it’s just Boston, Philly, Cleveland, Portland and Los Angeles to go. Get your tickets while you still can.
The next newsletter will be the one you’ve been waiting for.
See you in the comments.
