As an old ™️ LC! fan, the 10 pm end time for the Brooklyn gig is sadly very appreciated. In lieu of an official pre/post show party, and backed by the FOMO of fellow state side fans, I’m trying to organize an informal gathering at a nearby bar. I’ll be posting on the discord and reddit for other NYC based weeping dipshits. Come have a beer!
I'm looking forward to seeing you again! I was driving on I-70 across the Show Me State earlier this year listening to the All Hell album on my way and was feeling a bit introspective during the long drive. I think some other U.S. fans would agree that album hits different now nearly a year on from the last U.S. tour just due to how circumstances here have changed since we initially heard those songs. The songs on it have begun to feel a bit like a life raft at times, so I think it will be especially meaningful to hear some of them live, surrounded with other people. Thanks for all that you do!
Waterloo Records is a great record store in the downtown Austin area. Also has a ATX local bookstore nearby (BookPeople) and some good tiny food stands (Lobster rolls nearby and also Shipley doughnuts, iirc. Shipley is a Texas staple but there's also the ATX local voodoo doughnuts which are more specialized). Barton will definitely be a treat and it's really not expensive at all to visit, though parking may be tricky as lots of UT student families are visiting, and of course locals will be clamoring for the Summer Barton vibe too. Lots of different things to do! My brother and I are so excited to see the band, and hope u guys have a great time in the lone star state!!
I’m a fan in Australia and I’ve really appreciated the $$ transparency because it takes the sting out a bit about not having any Australian gigs (but I’ll keep daydreaming about it winning just enough in the lotto to organise my own music festival and pay for bands to come/a minimum for their time) 🥲
Super appreciate whenever you post album recs from yourself or anyone else in the band Gareth. Would love to hear a little in future newsletters on what your current methods of new music discovery are in 2025 - as an oldhead who misses the peak blog days and is staying off TikTok for my own sanity I often feel like I've lost it a bit in terms of finding good new releases outside the mainstream.
Yes we cannot wait for that one. We fly to Spain just 3 days after landing back from America, so my stress levels won't allow me to engage with it yet! G

What Switch games are you planning for the flight and why are they Balatro and more Balatro?
